Make a Canva PDF print-ready

Canva is great for designing – but a standard Canva PDF is often not quite print-ready: colors are RGB, and without the right download settings there's no bleed. Here's how to get it right.

1. Start with the right size

Create the design in the finished size of your product (for example 8.5 × 11 in or 3.5 × 2 in for a business card).

2. Show the print bleed

In the editor, turn on the print bleed in the File menu. Extend backgrounds and edge-to-edge images all the way into the bleed area. Keep text and logos well inside the edge.

3. Download as “PDF Print”

Share → Download → File type: PDF Print, and check “Crop marks and bleed”.

4. Check and fix in PreflightPilot

Drop the PDF into PreflightPilot. It recognizes Canva files, checks bleed, fonts and image resolution, converts RGB to CMYK with a real print profile and marks the file as PDF/X-4 when everything checks out – free and without uploading your file.

Check your PDF or image for free: bleed, fonts, CMYK and resolution – with the exact spot. Fix issues automatically, no upload.
