Vector & raster – the difference
A raster image (a photo, for example) is made of tiny squares – stretch it too far and you see the squares, it gets pixelated. A vector graphic is made of shapes and lines described by math. It stays razor-sharp at any size – business card or billboard. That's why logos and text ideally go into the file as vectors.
